Statement

 

This piece depicts the expression of the feminine form through dance, and how African spirituality has long respected and revered  the feminine form. Here the moon is represented by the Lozi Goddess Nasilele, a spirit who protects  the female figure as they dance under the dark skies.

Mwauluka Nambula, also known as Chuck Van Dusty, is a self-taught artist who began at the age of six.. He used art as a therapeutic outlet after the death of his parents; this became his driving force and means to help people through grief.
