Kgaugelo Rakgwele
Digital illustration (Line art)
Kgaugelo Rakgwale is a Soweto raised, Johannesburg based multidisciplinary autodidact with an above average fervor for digital line art, photography, and experimental grayscale short filmmaking.
Her work is deeply inspired by Nick Knight and Zanele Muholi, an influence she refers to, in an effort to examine the black woman's attempt to navigate and exit insufficiency. Most of my works comprise emotive portraiture that is centred around themes of silence and introspection, an approach I observe to create my art.
